Gerry McDonough has been practicing law for over 25 years in a variety of settings. A 1991 graduate of Suffolk University Law School, he graduated at the top of his class, summa cum laude, with several awards, including the Alexander Cella award in Administrative Law. He was also Editor-in-Chief of the Suffolk University Law Review. Following law school, Gerry clerked for the Honorable Joseph Nolan on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Gerry’s professional career includes work in the private and public sectors. In the private sector, Gerry was associated with Foley Hoag LLP, one of Boston’s largest and most prestigious law firms; Todd & Weld LLP, one of Boston’s finest litigation firms; and Holtz & Reed LLP where Gerry was one of the founding partners. Gerry has also served as a senior manager and lawyer for some of the highest levels of state government -- the Office of the State Treasurer, the Office of the State Auditor, and the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. He has advocated for his clients before a number of administrative agencies and state and federal courts.

Gerry’s office is located in North Cambridge, at the intersection of what is best about working-class Cambridge and the emerging new economy. Gerry brings old-fashioned values – hard work, ingenuity, a sense of morality, and fairness – while helping his clients find the means to thrive in the new economy.
